Psychology Undergraduate Research Grant

This award, funded through the contributions of faculty, alumni, and others, aims to recognize exceptional student scholarship in psychology.

The Undergraduate Psychology Research Grant award will be open to any enrolled UMW student who has declared a major or minor in psychology and who is pursuing data collection for a psychology-related research project while enrolled as an undergraduate at UMW. To be eligible for funding, students must submit:
*a letter of application briefly outlining the project and its relevance to
the student’s professional goals;
*a research proposal describing the hypothesis, its theoretical foundation, the
methods that will be used to investigate, and the plan for data analysis;
*documentation of IRB approval for the project, if relevant;
*documentation of expected project costs;
*a resume;
*relevant academic transcripts;

Special consideration will be given to students who:
*are majors (rather than minors);
*have a history of exceptional performance in their psychology coursework;
*have completed formal coursework in research methods;
*represent under-represented groups;
*demonstrate financial need.

Monies that are not distributed will be carried over to subsequent years.
